Take a road trip to Kalbarri

CEO Garry Keeffe shares why the Shire of Northampton is an unforgettable holiday destination.

Situated just north of Geraldton in the Mid West region, the Shire of Northampton encompasses the rural town of Northampton and the coastal communities of Horrocks, Port Gregory and Kalbarri - including the iconic Kalbarri National Park.

CEO Garry Keeffe says the Shire is a great place to explore on your next WA road trip. “The Shire is very much a heritage Shire, established back in the early 1860s - it has a range of activities for any visitor” he says.

Tourism is a big drawcard for the region, with the newly constructed Kalbarri Skywalk jutting out over the gorge, offering spectacular views and attracting tourists from all over WA.

Nature’s Window is also an ever-popular spot for photos - a wind-eroded opening in the layered sandstone framing a view of the Murchison River.

The region comes alive with colour during wildflower season from August-October each year. Coupled with the mild weather, it’s a fantastic time to visit.

When is your next trip north?
