Spend a weekend in Gingin

Shire of Gingin CEO Aaron Cook explains why the area is an ideal holiday destination.

Occupying an enviable coastal location only an hour’s drive from Perth, Shire of Gingin CEO Aaron Cook says it’s the mix of the rural and coastal communities that makes the area so unique.

“Not only do we have the townsite of Gingin, we have the coastal communities of Guilderton - which has the Moore River – and we’ve got Seabird and Ledge Point and also all the way up to Lancelin.” says Aaron.

“It’s a fantastic place, you’ve got so many different activities to do.”

An ideal destination for a weekend away, pack up the car and explore the region’s many attractions. From pristine beaches to bush hiking trails, Gingin’s Gravity Discovery Centre, and Lancelin’s popular sand dunes, there’s something for everyone.

“We have huge amounts of accommodation not only in the rural area but also along the coast as well with our caravan parks and other amenities.”

Aaron says that the Council are proactive and always eager to help where they can: “We assist our community all the time through various subsidies and through our sporting areas.”

“Please visit Gingin, I look forward to seeing you, and so will the rest of the community” he says.
