Shire President Laurene Bonza shares her love of Dundas’ unique woodlands environment.
The Shire of Dundas offers visitors a unique experience and, according to Laurene, ‘it’s a very big space.’
Laurene shares her experience during her first term on Council. “When I’m not being the President of the Shire of Dundas, I’m the Customer Service Officer at the Police Station.”
“What made me get into Local Government? I just thought that I’d have a go at doing some community things from the pointy end, just to get involved.”
“When I got on to Council, I wasn’t quite prepared for probably the amount of regulation that Local Government is under, that was a little bit of a surprise, as well as the rigid rules around meetings.”
“One of the main things we’ve just done is open our all weather air strip upgrades so we’ve now got access to RFDS all the time.”
Laurene says in her time off she loves to run in Dundas’ unqiue woodlands environment.
