There's a strong sense of community in the Shire of Capel and the community really bands together in hard times. Volunteer groups are a very important part – Watch to see why.
Murray Scott has been President at the Shire of Capel since 2001, following in the footsteps of his Father who was also a Councillor for the Shire.
Murray loves the sense of community the Shire of Capel offers and says the community really bands together in hard times and volunteer groups are a very important part of this. “The Capel Shire is a fantastic place to be, it's a community that comes together in hard times, and is made up of many different volunteer organisations as most communities are. They're really dedicated to what their role is whether it’s ambulance, fire or flood and storm related”.
“If we didn't have volunteers in our communities I don't think the communities would exist how they are today” says Murray.
