Visit Corrigin – A Dog Lover’s Town

Shire of Corrigin CEO Natalie Manton recommends what to see and do in Corrigin.

Travel two hours east of Perth on the Brookton Highway you’ll find Corrigin, a small Wheatbelt town with an affinity for residents of the canine kind.
 
Truly a town for dog lovers, A famous landmark in Corrigin is the Dog Cemetery, a touching tribute to man’s best friend. The town also holds the world record for ‘The Most Dogs in a Ute’, obtained in 2002 when 1527 dogs gathered for the record-breaking event.
 
Shire of Corrigin CEO Natalie Manton says the area’s wildflowers - found from August to October -  are another main attraction. “As you get a bit closer to Corrigin you'll notice our Wildflower drive on the right hand side and that showcases an amazing array of iconic local wildflower species.”
 
It’s also a region with impressive rock formations. “Corrigin has a gorge rock on the eastern side of town, it's on the pathway to Wave Rock and offers an excellent view of the surrounding countryside” says Natalie.
 
While in town, visitors can also check out the Pioneer Museum. View a collection of vintage tools and farm machinery, the Blacksmiths shop and other pioneer memorabilia.
