Vibrant Victoria Park

Mayor Karen Vernon highlights all that the Town of Victoria Park has to offer.

The Town of Victoria Park has a lot to offer residents and visitors, alike. “In the last 10 years I feel that Victoria Park has become a destination in its own right,” explains Mayor, Karen Vernon who has lived in the area for over 22 years.

As well as well-known attractions such as Optus Stadium and The Crown Casino, there are plenty of natural attractions to visit, and Mayor Vernon enjoys exploring these. “We have 6kms of Swan River frontage, and we have our own mini Kings Park - which is the Kensington Forever Bushland”.

If you’re in need of a coffee or some lunch, the Town of Victoria Park’s famous café strip has you covered. With a wide variety of international cuisines to choose from, and some great small businesses to support, you won’t be disappointed.  “We're very proud of it [the café strip] and as a Council we're committing to helping our business community, because that in turn, supports the vibrancy of our wider community,” says Mayor Vernon.

Supporting the vibrancy of the local community is at the forefront of the Council’s on-going ‘Old Spaces – New Places’ project which takes un-used areas of the Town, such as laneways, and transforms them into spaces that local residents and visitors want to use. Mayor Vernon urges you to explore the next time you are in the Town of Victoria Park, and spend some time in these new spaces.

“Please come and visit us in the Town of Victoria Park. I guarantee, you'll be surprised.”
