Mountain Biking in the Shire of Murray

New trails in Dwellingup mean that the Shire of Murray is great place for mountain bikers of all abilities.

Thanks to some recently obtained grants, the Shire of Murray is busy constructing a number of biking trails as well as a new Visitor Centre. Currently, across the Shire there is 34.2km of mountain bike trails designed to cater for a range of abilities, but by the end of 2020, there will be 54kms.

The Shire’s Trails Officer, Kelvin Barr is pleased with the trails that have opened so far and encourages visitors to the area to try them out,

“They're beautiful trails. They're really good quality and they're great fun to ride.”

He does have one piece of advice that riders should bear in mind, and that is, “ride within your limits and ride the trails that are within your limits, otherwise it can be a little bit nasty.”

To find out about the different trails around the Shire of Murray, you can visit the Trails WA website. Alternatively, the Council’s website will be regularly updated with details of new trails and when they are open to the public.

The next time you’re looking for an activity to get your adrenalin pumping, or get you out into the great outdoors, why not head to the Shire of Murray’s great selection of mountain bike trails?
