Community-focused in Victoria Park

President Trevor Vaughan explains what the Town of Victoria Park council does for the local community.

Having been in Local Government for almost 16 years, Mayor Trevor Vaughan knows a lot about the community that the Town of Victoria Park council serves.

“Our community is really good because we've got people who are interested in the town. We've got a lot of young people who like to see change in the community”, he explains.

Supporting this community is very important to the Council, and they do that by listening, explains Mayor Vaughan.

“The Council helps the community by listening to them. One of the things about our Council is that, if somebody comes up with an idea, we don't say ‘No’, we say ‘Let's look at this and let's see how we can improve our community’".

The Town of Victoria Park has many facilities that both locals and visitors can enjoy. From McCallum Park on the banks of the Swan River to the leisure centres, the special events and concerts to the well-known restaurant strip, there is something for all ages to enjoy.
