Adventure seekers go wild in the Shire of Murray

CEO Dean Unsworth tells us why the Shire of Murray is an unbeatable place for those who love the great outdoors.

Only 90 minutes from Perth, the Shire of Murray is an ideal destination for thrill-seekers, foodies and nature lovers alike.

Murray spans a large region east of Mandurah from Yunderup to Pinjarra, south to Coolup and inland to Inglehope.

In the heart of the Shire sits the picturesque town of Dwellingup, a popular holiday destination home to towering old growth forests, walking trails, rivers and spectacular national parks. There’s also a range of great eateries for those planning a longer stay.

Shire of Murray CEO Dean Unsworth says it's an exciting place with so many attractions “We've got trails, the estuary, rivers and heritage. There's so much to see, so much to do and it's on Perth's doorstep”.

“Getting the most out of Murray doesn't take a lot, do a little bit of research on the Shire of Murray website and you'll see a whole list of things to do whether it's hiking, biking, canoeing or walking” he says.

At the Shire of Murray you can also hop on an original steam train. “Not many steam trains are around anymore, and Dwellingup has the Hotham Valley Railway. It is a real unique attraction for us” says Dean.

The adventure is yours to create. See you in the Shire of Murray.
